JANUARY/FEBRUARY
If weather is mild, occasionally cut the grass with the mower blades set high - to maintain about an inch of growth. Check equipment. Keep off the grass if frozen or waterlogged. Call us to discuss the servicing of your mower or strimmer.
Check that your Pruners are sharp? Good offers can often be found on new equipment.

MARCH
Rake the grass thoroughly using a special rake or wheeled equipment. Spike the lawn all over and apply lawn sand if necessary. Keep mower blades high and just 'top' the grass.
Have you checked your powered garden machinery? Difficulties starting? Do you need a new machine? New Strimmer, Hedge Cutter, Chainsaw?

APRIL
Re-seed bare patches, apply fertilizers and moss killer towards the end of the month. Mow lawn regularly, lowering mower blades gradually to 3/4 inch.
Are you cutting nice and evenly? Does your Cylinder need sharpening?
If you are spending more than2 Hours cutting consider upgrading your machine.

MAY
Keep mowing, increasing the frequency as required. Treat with selective weed killers or combined weed/feed preparations if you haven't fed the lawn in April.
Hit any Obstacles? Have your Blades sharpened.

JUNE
Mow lawns twice a week if possible working to a definite pattern. Water grass if necessary, remembering tosoak thoroughly. Don't scalp the Grass - You will damage the blade.

JULY
Treat grass with second application of fertilizer or weed killer / fertilizer. Water in as necessary. Don't crop grass too closely - raise mower blades as required.
Does your Hedge cutter work? Have it sharpened!
Do your Shears & Pruners operate correctly?

AUGUST
Keep on mowing regularly and watering as necessary. (You must have a license to use a sprinkler or hand-held hose). Fill any cracks caused by drought with a mixture of sharp sand and soil.
Too much dust will harm your Engine; replace your air filter!

SEPTEMBER
Raise mower blades to allow the grass to thicken and protect roots from winter frost and snow, and increase interval between mowings. Apply Autumn-Winter fertilizer, weed killer and moss killer.
Is your chainsaw operational? Have the chain sharpened. Need new strimmer line?

OCTOBER
Rake out thatch from turf and spike lawn to assist drainage. Brush in peat and sharp sand. A rotary mower with a collector is particularly useful at this time of year to collect dead or loose leaves. Continue cutting as necessary.
Are your Leaf blower or Vacs working correctly? Do they needs a service? BOOK FOR WINTER SERVICE!

NOVEMBER
Use a stiff broom to remove wormcasts from the grass. Raise mower blades to allow 1 inch cut. Don't mow if very wet as this will compact the soil and encourage water logging. Treat "fairy rings" with fungicide.
Chipper/ Shredder working? BOOK FOR YOUR SEASONAL SEVICE!

DECEMBER
Rake all debris from lawns. Continue occasional cutting if weather is mild. Service your mower and any other equipment.
